Kha Creation successfully revamped FreeDivorce.com, providing a user-friendly website and a balanced revenue model.
THE CHALLENGE
The challenge was to strike a balance between providing valuable resources to people going through a divorce, and monetizing the content in order to sustain and grow the platform.
THE APPROACH
We decided to use a dual-purpose approach to satisfy the need for both free content and monetization. We used Vimeo for hosting and managing the paid video guides. Integrating with Vimeo added a layer of technical complexity.
To monetize the website, we developed a subscription-based module offering comprehensive guides. To continue providing free content, we added a preview feature.
THE OUTCOME
The end result was a fluid subscription system allowing users to access comprehensive guides upon subscription. The free previews play a pivotal role in encouraging potential subscribers.
FreeDivorce.com is a resource for people going through a divorce in California. It offers instructional videos, downloadable court forms, and guides on various divorce procedures. The site offers paid instructional packages for those who want detailed guidance on specific court forms. Their mission is to make divorce less time-consuming, expensive, and tiresome by offering step-by-step guidance on how to handle the divorce process, without the necessity of hiring lawyers.

The Ask
Kha Creation was tasked with the development of a subscription-based module for FreeDivorce.com to monetize its divorce forms and guides. This module needed to include a free preview feature for logged-in users, with the comprehensive guides hosted on Vimeo and made accessible post-subscription.
Design Implementation
We began with a series of meetings, in order to fully grasp the requirements of the FreeDivorce.com project. A thorough investigation into the target audience and the competition was undertaken. Employing various design and engagement methods such as user-centric design, interactive prototypes, and A/B testing, a refined user interface was crafted. This meticulous approach ensured that the subscription module was user-friendly, engaging, and stood out amidst the competition.
Content Management System
Utilizing WordPress as the foundational platform, the project hinged on the customization of the Membership Pro plugin to construct the subscription module for FreeDivorce.com. This plugin was tailored to accommodate the unique needs of the website, facilitating the integration of Vimeo-hosted video guides and the implementation of the free preview feature for logged-in users.
The End Result
The project produced a significant growth in subscriptions, indicating a positive reception from users. The feedback received indicated an appreciation of both the free and paid content.
